Thank you for visiting Run Languages. These terms outline how the content on this site can be used and what you can expect from me. By continuing to browse and use this website, you agree to the conditions below. If something here doesn’t sit right with you, please feel free to close the tab — no hard feelings.
1. What This Site Is
Run Languages is a personal publication written by me, Claire Durand. The articles, guides, and regional profiles reflect my own research, first-hand experience, and conversations gathered over years of living in France. I write about French property, regional architecture, housing customs, and the practical side of settling into a home here — from stone cottages in the Drôme to apartment hunting in Lyon.
This is not a news outlet, a government resource, or a licensed advisory service. It’s one person’s attempt to share what she has learned, in the hope that it helps someone else navigate the same path.
2. Content Is Not Professional Advice
I am not a lawyer, not a financial adviser, and not a real estate agent. Nothing on this site should be taken as legal, financial, or professional property advice. French property laws, tax rules, mortgage conditions, and regional regulations change regularly and vary by circumstance. What applied to my situation in the Drôme may not apply to yours in Brittany or Bordeaux.
If you are considering buying, selling, or renting property in France, please consult a qualified professional — a notaire, a licensed estate agent, or a financial adviser who understands the French system. I share my perspective freely, but your decisions and their consequences remain entirely your own.
3. Accuracy and Updates
I do my best to keep information accurate and current, but I cannot guarantee that every detail on this site is up to date. Market conditions shift, regulations get revised, and even the best-intentioned writer can miss something. If you spot an error or something that no longer reflects reality, I welcome you to reach out — I would rather correct it than leave it standing.
That said, I make no warranty or representation about the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of the content. Use what you find here as a starting point, not a final word.
4. Intellectual Property
All writing, photographs, and original materials on this site belong to me unless otherwise credited. You are welcome to quote short passages with a clear link back to the original page — that is fair and appreciated. Republishing entire articles, scraping content, or using my work for commercial purposes without permission is not.
If you would like to use something more substantially, just ask. I am generally reasonable about these things.
5. Comments and User Conduct
If comments are open on a post, I ask that you keep the conversation respectful and relevant. I reserve the right to remove comments that are abusive, spammy, or clearly posted in bad faith. This is a small corner of the internet, and I would like it to remain a pleasant one.
Any information you share in comments or through contact forms is provided voluntarily. I do not sell, rent, or pass on personal data to third parties. If you would like to know what information I hold or would like it deleted, just email me.
6. External Links
I often link to external resources — property portals, official government pages, books, local businesses, and other publications I find useful. I do not control those sites, and linking to them does not mean I endorse everything they publish or guarantee their accuracy. If you follow a link away from Run Languages, the terms and privacy policies of that other site apply.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from your use of this website or reliance on its content. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss — whether it stems from property decisions, travel plans, financial commitments, or anything else you undertake after reading something here.
I write in good faith, but life is unpredictable and so is the French property market. Please act accordingly.
8. Changes to These Terms
I may update this page from time to time as the site evolves or as legal requirements change. The date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. If the changes are significant, I will note them clearly. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing Law
This site is published from France and is intended primarily for readers interested in French property and regional life. These terms are governed by French law, and any disputes will be handled under French jurisdiction.
10. Contact
